Gate Hanging Set

For installing your field gate, choose the double strap adjustable hanging set. This is suitable for all wooden field gates that have a standard 75mm thickness. These are the heaviest field gate sets on the market and are suitable for gates from 900mm to 4200mm in length. Constructed of 6mm steel plate fully galvanized the set comes with all fitting bolts as well as the hook to drive and hook to bolt to suit wooden posts from 150mm to 200mm in size. The bottom hinge bracket is adjustable to allow you to level up the gate after hanging.

Closing End of 5 Bar Wooden Gates

There are many options available, here are the most popular. 

Starting with the spring latch fastener as this is the most popular closing mechanism for agricultural and equestrian applications. The gate slams on the side of the gatepost and the spring latch is secured with a very large staple on the post. This system will secure the gate even allowing for some slight gate or post movement over time.

A self locking gate catch kit is often used in domestic situations as a solution to gate fastening. It's easy to operate and the gate clicks shut gently when adjusted correctly. 

Equestrian Situations

Another option here is to have an animal safety self locking gate catch but with extra protection built in so that there is a much reduced risk of injury to any animal being led through the gateway. There are no pegs or sharp ended latches on this unit. A rounded bar is offered to make this safer.

The Hunting Type Lift Latch Kit is another option for equestrian situations. This does not offer the safety features of the animal safety self locking gate catch, but does allow somebody on horseback to reach down and open the gate without having to dismount.

Pairs of Gates

These can be fastened in the centre using a throw over. This closing system is usually paired with a couple of drop bolts to hold the feet of the gates in position when closed and hold one gate closed if only one gate needs to be opened. The drop bolts are also used to hold the gates securely open when full access to the entrance is needed.

An alternative heavier throwover loop with handle and fastening staple is useful should you wish to padlock a pair of gates together.
