Proven Protection In processing all our softwood timbers we add the very latest, environmentaly advanced preservative protection that will give you every confidence that your products will have long and low maintenance service life.
From facilities at both our sites we pressure treat our timbers with Tanalith® E wood preservative to produce Tanalised® timber - totally protected against all forms of wood decay and insect attack.
Tanlised timber has a pale green colouration that blends naturally with outdoor environments.
We have also invested in heat treatment facilities, offering treatment of packing timbers to meet the international ISPM 15 standard
Chestnut fencing is made from cleft chestnut pales gripped at the top and bottom by four straining wires for strength. It can be supplied with two or three rows of wire. With the poles spaced 2" or 3" apart.
Standard post and rail has 3.6m rails with posts at 1.8m centers.
Our most popular fence has 125x75mm posts 1.8m tall with one weather slope on the top. This is often used with 87x38mm rails 3.6m in length.
To calculate requirements divide the fence length by 1.8 and this gives you the quantity of posts and rails for a two rail fence (multiply rails by 1.5 for a three rail fence)
